Download And Installation Procedures

The NumberMate setup program does not install any "adware", "spyware", or any other type of intrusive or destructive program or program code.

(Note: If you are going to install NumberMate on a computer that has CalcuNote installed on it, see the section at the bottom of this page for additional installation instructions.)

Download the setup program file "nmtsetup.exe" (2,318 KB) if you want to install NumberMate immediately.

Download the zip file "nmate213.zip" (3,648 KB) if you want to find out more about NumberMate before you install it on your computer. Unzipping the zip file gives you access to the NumberMate help and license files in addition to the setup program file. (You use a utility program such as WinZip® to unzip the file.)

  1. Save the file to a temporary location in a directory (folder) of your choice.
  2. If you have downloaded the zip file, unzip it to gain access to the NumberMate setup program "nmtsetup.exe".
  3. Install NumberMate using one of the following methods:
    1. Run Window Method
      1. Select RUN from the Taskbar Start Menu.
      2. Type "C:\DirectoryName\nmtsetup" where "C" is the disk drive letter and "DirectoryName" is the name of the directory where you saved or unzipped the file "nmtsetup.exe".
      3. Press the ENTER key.
      4. Follow the setup program instructions.
    2. Windows Explorer Method
      1. In the Windows Explorer window, display the contents of the directory where you saved or unzipped the file "nmtsetup.exe".
      2. Double-click the filename "nmtsetup.exe".
      3. Follow the setup program instructions.

First Time Installation

When you install NumberMate on a computer for the first time, it installs as an evaluation version. You can use the evaluation version FREE for 60 days. After that you must purchase a license to continue to use the software. When you purchase a license, you receive a Registration Code which you use to convert the evaluation version to a fully functional registered version.

The evaluation version does not perform the following functions:

  • print a tape
  • export a results table to a text file
  • save a NumberMate file
  • open a NumberMate file

If your evaluation procedure requires a fully functioning version, send an email containing your name or your organization name to support@numbermate.com and ask for a temporary registration code.

Upgrade Installation

When you install a later version of NumberMate on a computer that already has NumberMate installed, the later version replaces the existing version. You do not need to uninstall the existing version first.

If the version being replaced was an evaluation version, the later version remains an evaluation version.

If the version being replaced was a registered version, the later version remains a registered version. You do not need to re-register it.

Upgrade-From-CalcuNote Installation

With the release of version 2.0.0, CalcuNote was renamed to NumberMate.

When you install NumberMate on a computer that has CalcuNote installed on it, NumberMate does not replace the CalcuNote program. NumberMate installs as a completely separate program. You must explicitly uninstall CalcuNote.

The recommended procedure for installing NumberMate when CalcuNote is present is as follows:

  1. Install NumberMate.
  2. Start NumberMate.
  3. Uninstall CalcuNote at your convenience.

When you start NumberMate for the first time, the program checks to see if CalcuNote is installed. If CalcuNote is installed, NumberMate makes a copy of your CalcuNote option settings for its own use. NumberMate makes this copy only if you accepted the default installation directory (that is, the "Program Files" directory on any hard disk drive on your computer) when you installed CalcuNote. If you accepted the default installation directory, you do not have to re-specify those settings in NumberMate.

If CalcuNote has been registered, NumberMate automatically registers itself using your CalcuNote registration information. You do not have to enter your registration information.

After its first startup, NumberMate runs completely independent of CalcuNote.
